A group's experience at River Bend Farm is completely customizable, created according to your needs. Our expert educational and programming guides are available to partner with your group to create a one-of-a-kind experience or we are happy to provide the idyllic setting for your prearranged program.  

Please note River Bend Farm is available for multi-day rental only and we kindly require that all groups utilize our on-site lodging and food service to respect the valued mission of our organization.

Teacher Institute Winter Weekend: Invigorating Outdoor Learning - A Weekend for Teachers Sponsored by Poland Spring®

Join us in January for our third annual "Teacher Institute Winter Weekend: Invigorating Outdoor Learning". Participants will spend time outdoors learning year-round place-based teaching techniques from our Ecology Educators, meet with community partners who offer and support place-based learning and hear from teacher ambassadors currently engaged in outdoor and place-based learning with their students.

Friday, January 24th — Sunday, January 26th

Snow date: January 31st — February 2nd

The weekend is free for teachers and attendees will receive a $250 stipend as well as a $175 travel award. **Applications will be reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis.

In this follow-up to The Art of Blending Tea, participants will learn about blending teas/tisanes for medicinal purposes. This class will focus on the medicinal properties of a selection of herbs and how to combine them for maximum effect. Learn about herbs that support the respiratory system, digestive system, nervous system and immune system. Participants will blend, taste and take home their own medicinal tisane. This class builds on the basics of tea blending, as discussed in The Art of Blending Tea. However, no pre-requisites are required in order to enroll. This workshop will start with a brief overview of the basics of the art of blending tea. This workshop is co-organized by The Ecology School & MOFGA.

Join us for a grassroots gathering to learn about and celebrate growing food in the Northeast. This weekend-long event will be a wonderful opportunity to live and learn at River Bend Farm, share information about gardening and farming, and build a community around growing food. All are welcome - beginner and master gardeners alike. Let’s share this time of learning and growing together.

Attendees will enjoy four meals from our from-scratch kitchen and stay in our beautiful and comfortable dorms built with sustainability as a priority. During your free time, enjoy and explore our beautiful campus along the Saco River.

Monthly Minis at River Bend Farm: A Community Series

Experience the taste of autumn at our community cider pressing & tasting event at River Bend Farm! Join us for a hands-on cider-making event where you can press your own fresh apples into delicious cider. We will light the bonfires, offer autumnal snacks (think apple cider donuts), and get cozy together as we celebrate one of fall's favorite traditions. Kids are free with a paying adult!

*It's highly encouraged to bring apples from your own trees (or overage from apple picking!) if you have them. We will have a limited amount of apples on-site for cider tasting*

Join Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) & Emily Springer of Meeting House Farm – a MOFGA-certified organic herb farm in Scarborough, Maine – to learn about the history and art of blending tea/tisane. Create your own blend to take home using locally sourced herbs. Leave with a handout about the principles of tea blending, a tea press, and your own blended tisane in a glass jar. Learn to taste each herb separately and then blend a perfect cup! This workshop is co-organized by The Ecology School & MOFGA.
